HENU Holds the Opening Ceremony of China-Kazakhstan Joint Research Center on Environmental Change and Human Civilization

On January 8th, the opening ceremony of the China-Kazakhstan Joint Research Center on Environmental Change and Human Civilization co-founded by HENU and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University was held in HENU. SUN Junjian, HENU vice president, and Aizhan SKAKOVA, head of the Institute of Ecology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University attended the ceremony.

SUN Junjian and Aizhan Skakova jointly unveiled the nameplate of the Center.

SUN Junjian hoped that the two universities could go hand in hand, give full play to the leading role of the Center, further promote the all-round cooperation between HENU and Kazakhstan National University, so as to achieve fruitful results in the related academic issues of “One Belt and One Road”.

Aizhan SKAKOVA and other Kazakh experts said that the Joint Research Center provided a bridge for the two universities to strengthen cooperation and exchanges. They would actively participate in the construction of the Center and research work on the topics, further expand the areas of cooperation between the two universities, deepen the cooperation level and enhance friendship between China and Kazakhstan.

After the ceremony, the Center held its first academic seminar, and 8 scholars made academic reports on climate change, archaeological discoveries and ecological environment in Xinjiang, China and Kazakhstan.
