HENU Holds the Opening Ceremony of the Center for the Study of Ancient Civilizations at Henan University and the International Workshop on Comparative Archaeologies of the Bronze Age in the Old World

On December 12th, the Opening Ceremony of the Center for the Study of Ancient Civilizations at Henan University and the International Workshop on Comparative Archaeologies of the Bronze Age in the Old World was held at HENU. Prof. WANG Wei, member of the Academic Committee, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and director of the Chinese Archaeological Society, served as the director of the Center for the Study of Ancient Civilizations at Henan University. The Center made a comprehensive comparative study on the origin, development process, background and mechanism of the ancient civilization of the world, discussing the law of the development of human history.

Unveiling Ceremony of the Center for the Study of Ancient Civilizations at Henan University was conducted by LU Keping, chancellor of Henan University and WANG Zaifei, director of the Department of Publicity, Party Committee of the City of Kaifeng. Ms. YANG Liping, director of the Department of Culture, Henan Province, and ZHANG Baoming, vice president and Party Committee of Henan University addressed. Top archaeologists from more than 10 countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Russia, Italy, Egypt and famous archaeologists in China participated in the ceremony. Jonathan Mark KENOYER, the National Academy member, made a congratulatory speech, expressing his great admiration for the foresight of the study of ancient civilization by the leaders of the Henan University.
