Chinese Academy of Sciences Researcher HAN Shijie is Full-time Employed by HENU


Recently, HAN Shijie, a researcher of Institute of Applied Ecology, CAS, was appointed as HENU distinguished professor of “outstanding talent special zone support program”.

HAN Shijie thanked Henan University for providing a good opportunity and platform for him and his team members. He had deep feelings for the harmonious atmosphere and strong humanistic care in Henan University, expressing his willingness to integrate all his energies into Henan University and integrate himself into the environment of the university as soon as possible, making his own contribution to the discipline construction of ecology.

HAN Shijie, born in 1956, is a doctoral supervisor with Ph. D. in Ecology. He is a secondary researcher of China Academy of Sciences, the member of the first batch of national “Millions of Talents Project”, and the chief scientist of “the 13th Five-Year” national key research plan (global change response program) and the national major basic research program (973 Program). He established the discipline of ecology of forest boundary, organically integrating the interface theory into the field of global change research, proposing the quantification of carbon sequestration potential in natural ecosystems. He won the second prize of State Science and Technology Awards and the MUMM Prize issued by World Meteorological Organization.
