The Founding of Henan University Alumni Association in the United States

On October 23, 2010, the founding meeting of Henan University Alumni Association was held in the China Palace Restaurant in Washington D.C. The guests present at the meeting include Tan Fuqing, the Consul of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in America, Zhang Tibin, the First Secretary of the Office of Cultural Affairs of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in America,Ge Xiangwen, president of Xinhua News Agency in Washington D.C., Fang Guodong, president of DaHuaFu College Alumni Association, Xie Xintan, chairman of the Sino-US Association of Commerce and Industry, Cao Guozhong, official of the Chinese Department of the United Nations, Du Jing, a journalist from Xinhua News Agency, and Yang Li, a reporter of the Star Source TV, etc. Guan Aihe, president of Henan University Alumni Association and the secretary of the CPC committee of Henan University and other school officials in related departments attended the meeting. The meeting was hosted by Dr. Wang Jue, vice-President of Henan University Alumni Association in the United States.

Guan Aihe gave his congratulations to the founding of Henan University Alumni Association in the United States and expressed hopes that the association would increase the contact between the alumni and strengthen their friendship. He also encouraged the alumni to return and cooperate with their alma mater through all kinds of ways.

The founding of Henan University Alumni Association in the United States is one of the most important events for the celebration of the centenary of the university's founding; it is also the second alumni association abroad after the first one in Canada. At present, Henan University Alumni Association in the United States has registered more than 240 alumni in America, and almost one hundred of them participated in the founding meeting as representatives.
