Brief Introduction to Henan Inorganic Ion Exchange Resin University Engineering Research Center

Education department of Henan Province authorized the establishment of Henan Inorganic Ion Exchange Resin University Engineering Research Center in 2009, which is the only one that focuses on the theory and the application of inorganic ion exchange resin in China. At present, the center has a strong research team made up by doctors, professors and engineers that major in biochemistry, inorganic chemistry, the organic chemistry, coordination chemistry, material chemistry and physics chemistry. The aim of the research team is to establish research projects based on the need of national economic development, and to apply the research results directly to the national economic development. We have already received 6 national invention patents, which all having been applied in the environmental protection and other industries. Now another five national invention patents are in application process.

In hardware facilities, we have already established an inorganic resin pilot-plant of 5000 square meters and a laboratory of 600 square meters. In the field of research and application of inorganic resin, we are unique and up to the international leading level. We have formed our own research orientations and established a stable domestic and international cooperation and exchange mechanism, such as Beijing General Research Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, Beijing Nonferrous Metal Research Institute, China Nonferrous Metals Technology Development Center, Institute of Polymer Chemistry of Nankai University, Institute of Chemical Technology of Hunan University and Jinchuan Group Company.

The research and development of the inorganic ion exchange resin is a multi-disciplinary high-tech. At present, only three American Universities have the specialized research group in the world. With unique superiority, the Inorganic silica gel skeleton ion-exchange material could almost cover the application fields of polystyrene and polyacrylic ester ion-exchange material. The core technique of the inorganic ion exchange material will enable the upgrade and update of lots of industries, such as exchange and adsorption, environmental protection and control, metallurgy, biology and pharmaceutical.
